Astronomy On Tap: Cork #5

After a summer break (and recovering from the EAS event in June) Astronomy on Tap Cork is back. Join us in the Franciscan Well on September 23rd.

This month we have a special treat: The two professors in astrophysics at UCC will be telling us about their work! For those who don’t know, faculty in Ireland have various levels. You typically start out as a lecturer, then get promoted to senior lecturer, then finally you attain the title of Professor (reserved only for the coolest of the cool). Bertram and Paul have a lot of knowledge to share and you can learn about some of the work being done in astronomy right here in Cork!

As per usual, we will have two brief, public-friendly talks about astronomy (no expertise needed at all!). We will also have some fun astro-trivia with some very special astronomy-themed prizes as well!
