More Information

Come check out Astronomy on Tap Triangle, our North Carolina chapter of short and engaging talks about astronomy over beer. For this last event of the semester, we will be back in the taproom of Durty Bull Brewing Company in Durham, NC from 7-8:30 PM on Wednesday, May 6th!

Few objects in the night sky have had as great a cultural and scientific impact as the Pleiades. Also known as the Seven Sisters, this striking group of stars has shaped mythology, guided agriculture, and inspired human imagination across cultures for thousands of years. In this talk, Andy Boyle will trace how our understanding of the Pleiades has evolved from ancient skywatchers to modern astronomy, and show how this familiar cluster is still helping us answer fundamental questions about the cosmos.
