Astronomy on Tap Los Angeles: The Search for Nearby Exoplanets

Join us at 7:30PM PDT, Monday, October 27th for Astronomy on Tap hosted at the outdoor Dog Haus Biergarten in Old Town Pasadena. We’ll hear from two Caltech PhD candidates, Kaitlyn Horstman giving a talk entitled “How to Find Pandora: Detection and Characterization of Bodies Outside our Solar System,” and Aniket Sanghi speaking about: “Searching for Avatar-like Worlds Around Alpha Centauri A .” In addition, we will have a telescope on-hand for guided stargazing, live music from local rockstars Jason Achilles and Forrest Mitchell, professional astronomers to answer your science questions, astronomically-themed pub trivia with prizes, and NASA educational swag!
