Get excited for THE FIRST EVER Astronomy on Tap Seattle Roadshow! For these event we are taking all the best aspects of #AstronomyonTap and taking them on the road! Our first stop is in Yakima!! Each FREE Astronomy on Tap Seattle Roadshow event will feature accessible and engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the Universe. Most events have games and prizes to test and reward your new-found knowledge! There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably stick around for the beer. Be sure to follow us on Twitter (@AoTSeattle), Instagram (@aotseattle), TikTok (@astroontapseattle) and here on Facebook to get updates on future events! ————– Speaker Bios: Andy Tzanidakis is an astronomy PhD candidate at the University of Washington, and serves as the Director of the UW Planetarium. Andy is an observational stellar astronomer and works on novel techniques searching for the rarest types of stellar variables in the Milky Way using ground and space-based observatories. Tobin Wainer is a 3rd year PhD. Candidate at the university of Washington, studying the processes of star formation. One long lasting remnant of star formation is stellar clusters. In his talk, Tobin will describe a citizen science project designed to find stellar clusters in our largest neighbor, the Andromeda galaxy, how the stellar clusters will be used for science, and how you can get involved!
