More Information

The US National Park system is a point of national pride and envied throughout the world. It’s history and development is an interesting story, enhanced by the work of two United States presidents, from different eras and political parties, who happened to be cousins. Both saw the potential treasure that the Parks could offer. This program takes you through the history of the Parks’ beginnings, and highlights some of the outstanding contributions made by the cousins Roosevelt. No registration is required. In celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary, Chandler Library is hosting a special lecture series that explores our natural environment and its relationship to our history, culture, and lived experiences. This series is supported by Friends of Chandler Public Library.
