Identify and confirm areas of species-rich grasslands in Scotland for mapping and monitoring. Locate new habitat for threatened species such as the Northern Brown Argus Butterfly.
Discover the hidden world of insects and their
homes in all the green spaces around you…
Species-rich grasslands in the UK have undergone severe degredation over the past century, threatening the vital services these habitats provide to humans (from carbon storage to pollination) as well as the associated wildlife that lives here.
As such, we must monitor and manage threatened habitats and species before we lose them. This projects aim to do just this by combining satellite imagery with environmental data in a citizen science survey to save our species-rich grasslands and associated wildlife.
