MNAWSC is a project to designed to accomplish 3 goals; Establish or follow protocols to measure and document ecological integrity and water quality of streams in wilderness areas or high quality landscapes on public land. These may serve as reference streams at a future time. Archive and organize that data and information such that it may be used to advocate for protection of these and other streams. Project management is deciding if a wide range of such streams or a few demo areas would be an optimum model. Hopefully others would become interested and participate or start their own similar projects, and understand the difference in ecological drivers between urban streams and less impaired reference streams so as to benefit stream restorations of the future.
