More Information
Join our monthly White Paper Reading Group, where we dive deep into the foundational papers that shaped modern distributed systems. Each month, we’ll select a seminal paper in distributed computing starting with Google’s groundbreaking “The Google File System” and come together to dissect, debate, and demystify the concepts that power today’s cloud infrastructure. This isn’t your typical passive meetup, we encourage participants to arrive having read the paper and armed with questions, critiques, and insights. Whether you’ve implemented a toy version of the concepts, identified potential improvements, or simply want to understand how these ideas influence the systems we build today, you’ll find engaging discussion with fellow engineers passionate about distributed systems. Our goal is to bridge the gap between academic research and practical engineering, helping each other develop a deeper understanding of the algorithms, trade-offs, and design decisions that underpin the distributed systems we rely on every day. https://static.googleusercontent.com/media/research.google.com/en//archive/bigtable-osdi06.pdf HeatSync Labs is a 501©3 nonprofit hackerspace in Mesa, Arizona dedicated to helping you get access to the tools and skills you need to make awesome stuff.
