More Information

We’re celebrating our nation’s independence by focusing on the bald eagle. Join Ranger Kevin for a lunchtime look at these magnificent birds of prey. Did you know that Arizona is now home to 90 breeding pairs of bald eagles? Bring a lunch and eat while we discuss what makes our southwest population of bald eagles special. We’ll also cover how they are doing since being removed from the Endangered Species list, how they survive in the harsh climate of the Sonoran Desert, and where they can be viewed, including from within our very own Maricopa County Park system. MEETING LOCATION: Discovery Center – side room or main lobby depending on attendance Limit 20 participants. To register, please email Ranger Kevin at Kevin.Thorson@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 7/23.
