Join Ranger Derik on hike through the park at night in search of nocturnal creatures that call the park home. The hike will cover 2 miles over sections of Overton and Clay Mine trails. The trail is rocky and uneven in many places and over the length you will gain roughly 140ft in elevation. For this hike participants will need water, flashlights and must be wearing supportive closed toed shoes. If you have a blacklight feel free to bring it along to help in the search for scorpions. Water and bathrooms are located at the nature center. MEETING LOCATION: Overton Trailhead Precise Meeting Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/bSc7w97qb4vCPdt59 Limit 25 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center (or Discovery Center at LP or Visitor Center at HRP) at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 9/18/25. PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events.
