Join Ranger Derik on a hike through the park at night in search of scorpions and other nocturnal creatures. The hike is rated as moderate covering 4 miles 2 out and 2 back and gaining 425ft of elevation gain along the way. Hikers should bring headlamps, flashlights and if available blacklights. Please check the weather prior to the hike and it is typically cooler at the lake than in the city. Water and bathrooms can be found on the other side of the street near the 10-lane boat ramp. MEETING LOCATION: Frog Tank Trailhead Precise Meeting Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/o1cWwNf6NFYD5exM7 Limit 25 participants. To register, please email Ranger Derik at Derik.rodgers@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 2/24/26.
