NatureSpots

NatureSpots is a non-commercial and free project to discover nature together. In the app, nature photos and sightings of animals, plants or mushrooms can be shared with the community on the map. The app is a new initiative for observing nature and taking part is very simple and straightforward. The app is free of advertising, does not track users and takes digital privacy seriously.

The goals of NatureSpots are diverse. NatureSpots is not just a photo app for discovering nature. Attributes such as “invasive species”, the number of animals, fungi, or plants observed, or the developmental stage of a species can also be noted in the app. The contributions help to document biodiversity or rediscover rare species. With these reports, evidence, and observation data, threats to nature can be better understood. All nature observations in the NatureSpots app are published as open data for free use.
