Take a trip back through time on this exploration of Arizona’s unique geological history! From the Grand Canyon to the Chiricahua Mountains and everything in between, discover how the rocks around us tell the story of a dynamic, ever-changing landscape that shaped the iconic features we know and love across the state. Alix Bierson is the Senior Scientist of Biology, Earth, and Environmental Science at Arizona Science Center. Prior to joining the Science Center in 2024, they have worked extensively in paleontology, geology, and science communication with museums around the United States. They received their Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2015, and their Bachelor of Science in Geophysical Sciences from the University of Chicago in 2013. Today, they work to make science accessible and fun to everyone, and to share their love of the natural world.
