Nevada has a long history of reinventing itself. From mining, to divorce, to gaming, to outdoor recreation, our state often defies expectations and surprises visitors with intriguing ways to “get a little out there.” Join our speakers as we traverse Nevada, exploring some of the ways our state has turned history into tourism, reinventing the allure of the Silver State and creating exciting new reasons to visit.
Location: Mackay Science Building Auditorium (Room 215), University of Nevada, Reno Parking: Free parking available to attendees in the Gateway Parking Garage, 160 E. 9th Street Times: Doors open at 6:30pm, presentation begins at 7:00pm
** Visit the Keck! **The Keck Earth Science and Mineral Engineering Museum will be open to explore before Science Distilled (5:00 – 6:30pm). Open since 1908, the Keck houses an outstanding collection of minerals, ores, fossil specimens and photographs, in addition to mining related relics. The museum is also home to some of the spectacular Mackay Silver Collection, created by Tiffany & Co.
