More Information

Experience an immersive presentation where groundbreaking science meets the magic of filmmaking. Brian Lindow draws on years of experience at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and nearly a decade working at Skywalker Ranch to bring an engaging program to audiences of all ages.

The journey begins with the science of lasers and fusion. Brian introduces the history and mission of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and offers a glimpse into the work happening at the National Ignition Facility, including his personal connection to the groundbreaking achievement of fusion ignition.

Brian then takes audiences behind the scenes at Skywalker Ranch, sharing photographs and stories from his years working with George Lucas and contributing to the filmmaking process.

The program concludes with a hands-on look at fascinating science materials, including: • a giant salt crystal • laser targets • aerogel—the world’s lightest manmade material

Guests will have the chance to get up close with the materials and even hold a piece of aerogel for themselves.
