More Information

The National Space Society’s Global Space Debates is a unique, 100% virtual program that brings high school students to the table to collaborate on international teams to debate the most important issues shaping humanity’s future in space. Students develop skills in critical thinking, leadership, communication, and creativity while arguing both sides of complex space policy questions. Students aged 14 - 19, previous debate experience or not, are invited to apply! Professional coaches teach and prepare them for the final tournament, May 29, 2027 at the International Space Development Conference (ISDC) in Los Angeles, CA.

The Benefits: Learning the skills of debate, finding your voice in an international setting, learning about timely space challenges, and formulating solutions. GSD offers a unique and fun international experience! Cash prizes are available for the finalists, as well as certificates, press releases, and NSS memberships. The virtual tournament will be streamed into ISDC 2027 before a live audience and simultaneously pushed out to the world.
