Join us at 7:30PM PDT, Monday, June 15th for a very special Astronomy on Tap. Tonight will be our 150th Astronomy on Tap, happening on our 10th year anniversary! It also kicks off our City of Astronomy events here in Pasadena and features visiting scientists from around the world in town for the American Astronomical Society’s semi-annual meeting in Pasadena. This Astronomy on Tap will be one of three happening this week for the City of Astronomy, so stay tuned!
We’ll meet at the outdoor Dog Haus Biergarten in Old Town Pasadena, and hear from U. Conn Professor Cara Battersby in a talk entitled: “Star Formation and Gas Flows in our Galaxy’s Center.” After that, we’ll host Dark Sky Specialist at McDonald Observatory Stephen Hummel discussing: “Preserving Darkness in an Age of Light.” In addition, we will have telescopes on-hand for guided stargazing, professional astronomers to answer your science questions, astronomically-themed pub trivia with prizes, and NASA swag!
The event is free and open to all ages. No reservations are necessary, just show up and stay only as long as you want. To view our past events, see our location page. For more information about our future events and affiliated Stargazing Lecture Series at Caltech, see our website.
